sakurakessho: Any Updates?
Any updates at all on the restoration of wiki? There are a few people who commented on the last post wondering if they could lend their talents. And at this point I would think that any help would sorely be appreciated.
Please, don't see this as prodding and just wanting a great thing back so soon. I am terribly lost without wiki.theppn and am just wondering if anything new has happened and what the latest update is.

I would also like to know how the updats are coming.. just curious. I never realized how many people depended on the wiki until I saw the thread about it on AHS. xD People are going insane!
But, yeah. Take your time guys.. it must be super hard.

might be table corruptions?if it is you can try this method
try first going to innoDB force-recovery mode
then go editing the /etc/my.cnf
and comment innodb_force_recovery = 2 on the title mysqld
Save the settings and restart the mysql.
and start doing mysql dump if possible to save your current sql backup
mysqldump --force --compress --triggers --routines --create-options -uUsername -pPw --all-databases > /home/public_html
now kill the mysqld service
now delete the database directory
the directories can be different depending on what server os you installed but the standard path would be
Since you deleted the database directory u should recreate it using the following commands
chown -R mysql:mysql /usr/local/var
chown -R mysql:mysql /usr/local/var
if you cant find the mysql location just use the command "locate mysql" or "whereis mysql" without the quotes
Now uncomment the line "innodb_force_recovery = 2" that you previously edited on /etc/my.cnf
Start the mysql service again
And now import the sql files that you made backup of
The last part is now flusing ur mysql priveleges
/usr/local/bin/mysqladmin -uroot flush-privileges

Any updates at all?
I remember someone saying they wanted to have it up before the end of the year, but theres basically two and a half more weeks before December is over.
I mean, has there been any progress? D: Even just a little?

I was searching and found this?http://theppn-backup.wikia.com/wiki/Wiki.theppn
I'm not sure what it's about as there doesn't seem to be a lot on it at the moment.
Also while I'm here, what happened to mm-bbs? It looks like they lost their hosting or something.

Based on what I read online, InnoDB tables can be corrupted if there is a high load on the server. Once corrupted they are apparently quite difficult to repair. If there is any way to distribute the storage so there is redundancy, like a RAID, that might be the way to go in the future. For now maybe we should try to grab as much as we can from the Google caches and write some scripts to input the old data into a new database? (Or if you have the raw data maybe we could extract the information from that as well?)
Not sure what exactly needs to be done since I don't know the details, but yes like many other people here I'd love to help out if I could.
